Few poetry sites or poetry networks around the Internet have the positioning we do on major search engines, for standard poetry related searches. Here's one of our page one listings on Google.com for instance. Therefore when a poem is written on any site the potential exposure to new readers will increase, if the poem itself is also listed/linked on Poetrydances.com. Think of us as a kind of 'elevation platform' for poetry - irrespective of the site chosen on which to actually post it.

 We link back to the site where the poem is posted and due to our visibility levels on the main search sites the chance of more people seeing the work increases.

We search out and link to a limited selection of what we believe to be the best of online User Submitted Poetry we find on Poetry Websites and Poetry Blogs across the Internet. (If you write poems online we may already be listing one of yours). Poems and Writers on our Site enjoy added exposure due to our page 1 listing on 14 of the Top search engines. The Writers behind the Great Poems we showcase are also Featured on the Site and in Poetry Press Releases issued each quarter. We also accept read requests.

Poems posted on this network in the Poetry forums will be periodically reviewed with a view to including any that we can on the main site. What do we look for in a poem? No fixed ideas on that really-but the poem will definitely move us in some way out of the ordinary. Poems on the main site are there because they contained strong, unique, yet not overly obvious images. The words used in a poem, whilst a critical part of our pleasure in reading, are given no greater importance than the overall feeling created for us in its reading. It should be said that poems on the main site currently are not overly rhymed and nor are they excessively long.

However-We are not in anyway putting ourselves out there as masters of the poetry universe- our formal appreciation of poetry isn't ever going to reach the level of many writers using our sites. Yet we know what we like and so far are very happy with the collection of great work that has been compiled over at Poetrydances.com- thanks to all contributors. A listing on Poetry dances.com may help lead to increased, reviews, ratings or comments for a writer on the site hosting their poems- it may not. At the very least, it hopefully will assist emerging writers to gain a little more exposure for their work.
